What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for energy healing that promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. It works by helping to align your energy—both physically and emotionally—so your body can begin to heal. You can think of Reiki as a way to open up a loving dialogue with your body.
The word Reiki (Rei–Ki) translates to Universal Life Force Energy.

Reiki can be administered with hands placed directly on the body or hovering just above it. The practitioner’s hands serve as a conduit for channeling healing energy to areas where it’s most needed. When your life force energy is low, you may feel fatigued, overwhelmed, or unwell. When it's flowing freely, you're more likely to feel energized, balanced, and at ease.

A Reiki session supports the well-being of the recipient on all levels—body, mind, and spirit—often resulting in a deep sense of peace and relaxation. Reiki is a natural and safe healing modality that complements other wellness practices.
Usui Reiki, the most widely practiced form, was developed by Mikao Usui. While Reiki is not a cure for illness, it has been used to help manage a variety of health concerns and to enhance general wellness.

What is a Shaman?

The Shaman is often called the “wounded healer.” This path begins with a deep commitment to healing one's own traumas and inner wounds in order to become a clear, compassionate channel for others. Through this process, the Shaman transforms personal pain into wisdom, medicine, and empathy—enabling deeper connection and service to those on their healing journeys.

The role of the Shaman is one of devotion and service—to their clients, their community, and the spiritual realms. Deeply rooted in nature, the Shaman’s work honors the interconnection of all life and seeks to restore harmony, balance, and well-being. As a healer, guide, and spiritual intermediary, the Shaman bridges the physical and spiritual worlds to bring insight, support, and transformation.

Note: While the word “Shaman” originates from indigenous traditions, many modern practitioners draw upon these principles with deep respect—honoring the cultural roots and wisdom keepers of these sacred practices. When used today, the term often reflects a broader, spiritually guided healing path rooted in ancient earth-based teachings.

What are Crystals and Crystal Healing?

Crystals are naturally occurring formations made up of different combinations of minerals. Each one has a unique structure, color, texture, and energetic signature. Many people feel drawn to crystals for their beauty and the calming, supportive presence they can bring into a space or wellness practice.

In holistic traditions, crystals are often used as tools to support balance and alignment within the body’s energy field. Some practitioners describe this as offering the body a gentle "energetic tune-up." While experiences vary, many people find that working with crystals encourages a greater sense of relaxation, clarity, or overall harmony.

Crystal healing is considered a complementary practice, often used alongside other wellness modalities to support one’s personal journey toward well-being.
